Il progetto si colloca in un contesto urbano di quartiere prevalentemente residenziale, caratterizzato dalla presenza di molteplici servizi alla collettività. La presenza di due scuole dell’Istituto Comprensivo D. Furlan, la palestra sportiva, un parco pubblico e parco giochi, costituiscono un’importante rete di strutture volte ad accogliere la nuova scuola secondaria favorendo la possibilità di generare connessioni e attività collettive di integrazione e scambio sociale. L’intervento è atto alla rigenerazione non solo del lotto ma si pone come progetto pilota per una riqualificazione urbana ad ampia scala, possibile grazie agli elementi già esistenti e caratteristici di questo luogo. La nuova scuola è a tutti gli effetti un edificio pubblico polifunzionale generatore, a sua volta, di un nuovo spazio pubblico connesso e permeabile con le componenti naturali e urbane circostanti: uno spazio aggregativo e di crescita della vita sociale collettiva.

progetto di riuso e rifunzionalizzazione del tracciato sede dell’ex ferrovia marmifera per la creazione di un asse polivalente dedicato alla mobilità sostenibile e ad asse verde attrezzato: realizzazione di un collegamento fra l’ex stazione località san martino carrara e la stazione di avenza utilizzando il sedime della vecchia ferrovia marmifera, e il collegamento della stazione di avenza con il litorale.

an open call have been launched looking for young architects under 40. we have been very glad to notice the success of our open call since we received a consistent number of applications. we decided to extend the invitation to 15 selected groups of architect.   we will host a nice colective made by fragments of culture from 10 different countries.     the 15 selected group of architect will design and produce a new piece of furniture inspired by the theme of the exhibition f / a fakeauthentic reflecting on the singularity / duplicity of this topic.   topic that will be the fil-rouge between participants. participants will be let free to give their interpretation of f / a fakeauthentic.   there will not be any restrictions about  materials, colours, construction method, weight.     size. size will be the only limit due to practical reason. according to typologies. 21 exhisting typologies to choose from.     a piece of furniture is the goal. one for each participant.   a piece of furniture that has to be beautiful, but also functional and pragmatic, easy to ship and easy to be placed, versatile and of course sturdy.   your piece of furniture will be shown as part of the collective exhibition.

la scuola ha forma curva protesa verso il centro storico, col quale stabilisce un dialogo forte e diretto attraverso le ampie aperture delle aule, e definisce uno spazio interno intimo e riservato. il nuovo complesso offre inoltre un collegamento con il centro attraverso nuovi percorsi pedonali. la pianta semicircolare a larghezza variabile ha una ripartizione interna scandita da elementi strutturali a raggiera. la scuola primaria raggiunge il primo piano mentre quella dell’infanzia -come i locali collettivi- è al piano terra. le classi, sviluppandosi attorno a generosi spazi comuni comunicanti con giardini esterni protetti e accessibili in quota, sono organizzate in cluster: l’uso appropriato di pareti mobili consente di modificare gli spazi interni, creando luoghi mutevoli adatti alle diverse forme di apprendimento e possibili utilizzi extrascolastici. tetto verde, strutture in legno, riutilizzo del demolito, fotovoltaico, componenti ad alta efficienza e basso consumo sono alcune coordinate che coniugano tradizione, innovazione e riciclabilità.

born in 2003 as a photographic award dedicated to mostra internazionale with the name of venice movie stars photography award, over the years the movie stars project has developed a set of activities connected to the world of cinema and their protagonists

porto marghera is one of the most extraordinary under changing areas in europe. its exceptionality comes from its dimension, which makes it one of the largest industrial compound in italy, and above all from its position in front of venice.

born at the beginning of the twentieth century, marghera has hosted a petrochemical hub important for the history of our country, and many other settlements which have left on the field extraordinary pieces of industrial archaeology but also pollution, dangerous wastes and recently various new functions.

its relationship with mestre became more and more problematic because of the presence of barriers such as the railways and the viaducts, weighed down by an increasing tourist traffic. but it is especially in the relation with venice, that marghera will play its future. venice looked and still looks at its chimneys and its gasometers like they are a testimony of danger but also of modernity. venice, which is looked by marghera as a dream background, seen by an exceptional overlook.

the industrial city looks at the historical city and vice versa, and the two cities are kept away from the water of the lagoon, which in both cases, enters between their buildings and makes porous the land on which they stand.

w.a.ve. is again facing the topic of porto marghera in a particular moment. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the industrial hub, so in this last year, the interest in its future is increasing without measures, producing ideas, plans and design projects. iuav university for many years is dealing with this area: with courses, design thesis and researches.

on two occasions already, dozens of architects from all over the world have faced these challenges which maybe wouldn’t be so extraordinary if they weren’t in front of the most famous historic city of the world. architects from all over europe, americas, australia, africa, asia, have committed their ability to imagine a future for this place, producing dozens of proposals and design projects which investigated every issue.

this year, in addition to proposing various design themes inside the large industrial area and on its edges, we ask to all participants to provide us, together with partial solutions, a vision for the whole area.

it will be a special occasion to measure the most important venetian topic in a time in which marghera conversion becomes possible.

il workshop affronta il tema del progetto di un parco agricolo nel quale attività produttive, spazi attrezzati, accessi, percorsi, mappatura delle piante selvatiche e disegno delle acque concorrono sinergicamente alla definizione di un paesaggio come sintesi tra le esigenze contemporanee di sostenibilità e le sue tracce storiche significative. 

l’evento è stata l’occasione per realizzare installazioni temporanee e sperimentali per l’azienda agricola la maravègia con il coordinamento di iacopo gozzi (treetopbuilder) e matteo ghidoni (salottobuono). ogni giorno il programma prevede l’intervento di esperti scientifici di alto livello che terranno delle comunicazioni sulle specifiche discipline che concorrono alla definizione dei paesaggi rurali contemporanei. tra loro paolo mestriner, coordinatore del master iuav architettura e autocostruzione, emanuel lancerini, dottore di ricerca in urbanistica e anouk vogel, paesaggista olandese.

within the project pm800 post metabolic city, soil is considered the very first edifying element nurturing the new city, instead of a tainted ma- terial to simply isolate and withdraw from. the polluted soil of porto marghera, beyond bring- ing a dramatic social and environmental heritage, embodies the possibility of the construction of a new utopian city (or a real city): pm800 proposes an innovative and visionary program that turns the remediation into a moment of collective reflection on the construction of the 

future venetian landscape.
42% of the terrain of porto marghera is currently still affected by a wide range of pollutants soaked into its exploited ground. multiplying the average excavation depth by the area of polluted soil we collect 32.000.000 cubic meters of contaminated earth to restore. this quantity could fill 800 towers with a square base of 20 meters and a height of 100 meters.
precisely in relation to this paradox lays the foundation of this project: hollowing out the ground of the entire industrial site allows for the construction of 800 tower-machines to store and decontaminate the polluted soil on site and pro- duce energy which will feed the new city.
the tower-machine becomes at the same time the testing prototype for new environmental remediation processes and icon for the reinterpretation of the vertical city paradigm. once the reclamation is complete, the tower-machine will be transformed into a living space constructed from the cleaned soil, used as a building mate- rial for both interior rear-end collisions and fa- cade cladding.
